Fun at the BBQ and races
BBQ, basketball and racing at Prestop
Yesterday we had a delicious BBQ at Prestop where almost everyone in the company could attend. Director Alexander Aelberts was the grillmaster, and with good music and excellent drinks, the barbecue turned out to be a successful afternoon! After dinner some people went to play basketball on the field in the garden of Prestop while others were having a beer and a chat.
Successful racing for the Prestop team at Zandvoort
Saturday, July 9 was a successful and fun day for the Prestop team in which Alexander and Laurens Aelberts both drove in the Mercedes-Benz SLK Cup. The three 20-minute races were held at Zandvoort and with some public coming over from Eindhoven, both went well on track.
Here's the race report!
Even though we are in the middle of the vacation and the same weekend the F1 race took place (5 drivers in the SLK were present), there were still twenty-three drivers at the start.
During the Qualifying, Laurens Aelberts set a sixth time while Alexander was troubled by little grip and set a twentieth time. With ten riders within one and a half seconds, the first race took an exciting course with Mike Rokven at the longest end, followed by Ad Bouman. Laurens Aelberts' fourth place was remarkable. Alexander made a good start and was driving consistently and therefore finished sixteenth. The second race became one of the most exciting, with the difference between winner Mike Rokven and Dirk van Dijk being 0.772 seconds. Laurens was again fourth and Alexander sixteenth. And believe it or not, that was also the result of the third race. So in the end, Laurens finished 4th overall and Alexander 16th. So a consistent day of racing that went super and was fun.
