Being Green: Our CSR Statement

Wednesday 27 March 2024

At Prestop, we consider sustainable business very important. That is why we are taking concrete steps to make our energy consumption greener. We are proud to announce that we make full use of Eneco's HollandseWind®, a 100% sustainable energy source from Dutch wind farms with the Milieukeur from SMK (Stichting Milieukeur/Environment Label Foundation). This label guarantees that our power is actually sustainably generated and meets strict environmental requirements, audited annually by an independent certification body.

Steps in energy transition

With this transition to green energy, we are taking concrete steps in the energy transition. Not only are we making our own energy consumption more sustainable, but we are also increasing the sustainable generation capacity in the Netherlands and significantly reducing our CO2 emissions.

Affirmation of sustainability

Our commitment to sustainability is underlined by the Eneco sustainability certificate we received in 2024. The Eneco HollandseWind certificate confirms that Prestop uses entirely green electricity generated in the Netherlands, which contributes to reducing CO2 emissions and promoting sustainable energy production in the Netherlands.

CO2 savings and impact

The expected CO2 savings from our use of green power is approximately 49,400 kg of CO2 compared to gray power. This is equivalent to what an average of 1,976 trees can absorb in CO2 in a year. Our choice of Eneco HollandseWind® not only demonstrates our commitment to sustainability, but also actively contributes to a greener future for our country and the planet.
